Gulf Coast Juniors - 2008 Orientation and Tryout Info

Registration/Tryout checklist and forms are now available online.
All paperwork must be turned in BEFORE the player can step foot on the court at tryouts. To make your tryout experience easier and to have a Gulf Coast t-shirt included in your tuition, you may complete the paperwork and turn it in prior to tryouts. Click here for more information.
Tryouts are MANDATORY. Cuts will be made from the 'Travel Teams', but only from non-travel teams if we cannot make enough space for all players that try out. If you cannont attend tryouts but want to be considered for a travel team, please pre-register and contact us immediately. Try-outs, Orientation, and practices will be held at:
First Lutheran Church Gymnasium
1644 Nursery Rd.
Clearwater, FL 33756
Directions: From U.S. 19, take Nursery Rd. west. Cross Keene Rd. and the church is on the
right.
Practices will begin right after tryouts in November and go thru mid December (except the week of Thanksgiving), followed by a winter break until the beginning of January.
****A new Florida Region rule requires each player to PERSONALLY register themselves with the region BEFORE tryouts.****
Steps to register:
1) go online to www.USAVFL.org
2) Click on (inside the yellow box on the right side of the USAVFL.org webpage)
a) "RETURNING MEMBERS" and follow the on-screen instructions if you played club last year or
b)
"NEW MEMBERS" and follow the on-screen instructions if you are new to club in the Florida region.

3) Select Gulf Coast Jrs. as your Club preference (or undecided if you are not sure yet).
4) After you have completed the registration process, print out your membership card and bring it to try-outs.
****You are required to complete this before trying out.
Information from the Florida USAV Region:
Electronic Signatures & Online Payment for Online Registration
* Be Aware that with electronic acceptance it is important that adult members register themselves and that a parent/guardian registers a junior player. All previous membership forms are INVALID. All members must register themselves individually ONLINE.
* With the Online signature the individual completing the registration for a junior player is representing that he/she has legal capacity and authority to act for and on behalf of the minor.
* Jr. Club Directors and/or coaches cannot register junior players unless they are a parent or guardian.
* If a player does not know their user name & password they can go online and request it under returning members or email me @ michelle@usavfl.org.
* When using the Online Signature to verify who is filling out the form, the Adult or Parent/ Guardian will be asked for their Driver's License or State ID number so have it on hand before starting the process.
* You are now able to pay online with Visa or Master card for your membership. When you get to the payment information, select "pay now via credit card" and complete the required credit card information.
* Please post instructions on your website to inform players that they MUST register online in advance of any tryouts. The players will need to bring a copy of their membership card and their medical release form to the tryout! DO NOT allow players to tryout until they are fully registered. (If you do, you will assume full responsibility for any accidents or injuries)
* Each member can then print their membership card at the end of their registration and bring those to each tryout for proof of their USAV membership for the current year.
Additional info from the Region sent 10/24/2007:
Please note that we are currently in the early registration period. Your current membership runs from Nov 1 to Oct 31...so if you are a returning player and you register during the month of October you will not be able to print out your new membership card until Nov 1, 2007.
Important Note: If you take advantage of early registration your membership status will reflect a PENDING status until Nov 1. On Nov 1 it will change to CURRENT as long as you have paid and signed the membership waiver.
